Our 100% trade-in guarantee
Carriage House Violins guarantees to accept any violin, viola or cello, which it has previously sold, as a trade-in toward a future purchase. 100% of the instrument's original sales price will be credited toward the new purchase, subject to the following conditions:
The instrument remains in the same condition as when originally sold by Carriage House Violins. Normal wear and tear such as wear to bow hair, strings, fingerboard, bridge, pegs, minor scratches and open seams are acceptable. Moderate to major damage, such as cracks, broken edges or corners, etc., may either void the trade guarantee or result in a reduction of the value at the sole judgment of Carriage House Violins.
A service fee will be assessed as follows:
- Violins, Violas - $125
- Cellos - $250
Bows (The cost of any necessary repairs will be deducted
):
- Rehair - $65
- New tip - $110 - $170
-
New wrap - $40 - $85
*Carbon fiber bows are not accepted for trade-in.
Cases: Violin, viola and hard-shell cello cases purchased new will be accepted at 50% of original price if in good condition. A lower trade-in value will be given for cases showing excessive wear and tear.
*Soft cello cases/bags are not accepted for trade-in.
This guarantee is fully transferable, provided it is accompanied by the original sales invoice.
The new purchase must be an amount greater than the previous purchase.
There is a limit of one trade-in outfit (instrument, bow and case) per subsequent instrument purchase.
*Please be advised that MA sales tax is applicable on the full purchase price of any new instrument/outfit acquired within MA, not including any trade-in credit applied.
