Over the years, we have made a particular effort to find instruments by the remarkable maker Stefano Scarampella. Often copied, Scarampella’s original work displays a robust style reminiscent of his Mantuan predecessors, especially Balestrieri. His work is a throwback to the older Italian style and certainly should not be considered “modern.”
We have been pleased to sell over 50 fine instruments by this prolific maker to artists such as Hilary Hahn, Sarah Chang, Scott Yoo, and Wei-Pin Kuo.
This example is one of the best small violins by any maker we have seen and will serve either the most demanding young player or an adult player of petite stature.
