Scott Tribble

A. Scott Tribble began her career of making things with a degree in Theater Production and Design from Greensboro College in North Carolina. After eight years making props and sets for professional regional theaters, she decided she would prefer to craft items that were beautiful, useful, and long-lived as opposed to those that looked pretty good from 30 feet away, were used by fake people to do imaginary things, and only had to hold together for about 3 months. Thus, in 2006, Scott moved from Oregon to Boston to enroll in the North Bennet Street School’s violin making program.

In 2008, Scott accepted a unique opportunity to join the Carriage House Violins workshop. After intense instruction from Eric Lane, she took over as the company’s primary bow technician. Upon completion of the North Bennet Street program, Scott joined Carriage House Violins full-time and started doing instrument repair.

Scott feels thankful to work in a shop full of fine instruments, skilled colleagues, and spectacular river views. She looks forward to a challenging and rewarding future – both in the shop and as an independent instrument maker.
