For over 20 years, Joseph Grubaugh and his wife, Sigrun Seifert, have been at the forefront of fine instrument making in the Italian tradition from their workshop in Petaluma, California.
“The first instrument we made together was similar to learning to play duets. We had disagreements on many of the small points that we each felt was important, yet when the instrument was done it was much more satisfying for both of us. As it turns out, classical instrument making was almost always teamwork-Stradivari with his sons, del Gesù with his father and maybe even his wife. We have each other. It’s a tradition we’re happy to continue.”
To any performer looking for a top-notch professional-level modern instrument, this recent violin from Grubaugh and Seifert would be the perfect partner.
