Benjamin Ruth, Boston, 2010

After working with the noted luthier Rene Morel in New York City, Benjamin Ruth worked at Reuning & Son Violins as a restorer from 1989 to 1994.

Since then, Ruth has been solely focused on his own instrument making, working from his workshop in Boston. A multiple medal winner at violin-making competitions around the world, Ruth’s instruments stand firmly alongside those of the world’s top makers, and we have been proud to sell many of them.

This violin is based on Stradivari’s “P form,” a design used for many of the master’s golden-period violins, and exhibits a mature and refined sound to complement its striking appearance.
